The stats as follows:
2015 Housing sales stood at 308,215 units
2020 Housing sales stood at 138,240 units
2021 Housing sales stood at 236,520 units
Across the 7 major cities in India, from January to September 2022, the total number of units sold is 265,000 with a possibility of another 75,000 units to be sold by December 2022 making it a total of 340,000 units, a 44% increase. This possibility is spurred on by pent-up demand in the housing sector amongst all categories (ranging from affordable to luxury) as businesses are in full swing despite the fact that interest rates on home loans have increased.
